How To: Travel Unprepared

Traveling unprepared is something I do a lot. It's not like I don't have the time to prepare, I just don't have the motivation to prepare. If you are anything like me, here are some tips to making your trip as  stressful and unorganized fun and spontaneous as possible :P

This was me, on Sunday night after being exhausted from CIAA, knowing that I had a 6am flight Monday morning...

1. Procrastinate-dont start  packing until you can't think of any other things to do like watch shows on your dvr, reorganize your chapsticks, check Facebook, make faces in the mirror to see how you'd look doing various things...
This is how I would look giving somebody the pouty/fish face.

2. Pack in a miniature duffle bag -I generally pack too much and don't wear half the stuff I bring. Remove that option! In my mind, my weekend shouldn't fit into something so small, but since they call it a "weekender", it must be the best choice.

This is my weekender from H&M

3. Try to be late-Don't look for your headphones until you are walking out the door. There's no way to fly sufficiently entertained without them so take all the time you need...the plane will most likely wait on you.

These are the new headphones that I had to buy from Marshall's ($7) since I couldn't find mine.

4. Pack without thinking- put lots of things in your weekender that are not aloud in carry-ons but are really important to you like expensive lotion, new perfume, super moisturizing conditioner that's juuuust over the size limit. That way you can argue with TSA and still end up having to throw it away :(

5. Dress inappropriately- wear flip flops even though your departure city and connecting city has a 6am temp of 40 degrees. It's too much trouble putting on reg shoes and throwing the flip flops in the weekender. Freezing on your walk into the airport, through the airport, on the plane with no blankets, during your layover and on the 2nd plane, also with no blankets is not so bad.

This is the best way to travel and you're guaranteed to have an amazing trip :)

Burger Fi on Ocean Dr. is the best place to eat in Delray...
so many options and all of them amazing!
I saw these little Bubble Gum Buddies in Kilwin's and
I thought they were so cute!
The little dino is my favorite
 she looks like Miaceratops!

Now my Rainbows are appropriate!
 Hi from Delray Beach :)

CIAA Friday Night

I had so much fun last night! The perfect combo of tons of friends, good music etc...until the rain came. Luckily, it was like 2:15am when it started raining so everyone got a full night of partying in before this crazy storm, wtf! This is what I looked like before the rain :)

My Hair Color

I've been getting a lot of questions about my hair color...CIAA so I'll be brief :)

I grew up with 3 black girls who were all natural redheads and I've always thought it was so pretty. I first went red-ish in highschool the old school way...Sun-In lol! As funny as it sounds, it did the job and it's cheap so that was my option. I would warn anybody though, if you don't have natural red or brown undertones, it probably won't lighten your hair to reddish brown. I have a friend who has a natural ash brown tones in her hair. She used Sun-In and it gave her the prettiest blonde highlights. You never know what you're gonna get if you use this product but one thing is for sure...it will give you a very natural look because it lightens your own color a few tones. You have to use it in the summer for the best results. The more you're in the sun, the faster it works.

Anyway, when I decided to go red by a professional, I went to Aveda Institute. They are students and do professional services at a deep discount and their instructors watch to make sure they do it right. I'm really vocal at salons so i'm never afraid that they'll get it wrong. If you aren't confident enough to tell the stylist exactly how you want your hair, this is probably not the place for you. If you are open to something new and/or want to trust someone to do something that you might not have thought of for yourself, this is a good place to try.

I knew exactly what color I wanted because I saw an Aveda ad in a magazine and loved the color. Here's the picture that I brought in. I just loved this so much and they did a great job mixing and whatever they did to come up with this. I love my red hair :)

CIAA Thursday Night

I am about 5 minutes from taking a nap so I'm gonna make this short. CIAA is here and I went out last night...got up this am for a wealth building seminar...ate lunch and now I'm crashing! If you don't know about CIAA, you can check it out here. It's a basketball tournament but really just an excuse to party from Wednesday to Sunday. More updates to follow...but for now, here's what I wore last night.

This dress is a really thin cotton so it's zero fuss. I didn't have to keep fixing it and it's not that tight so I had no trouble breathing :)

I'll take a pic of the watch and bracelet later today cuz I forgot to last night.

This is me squishing my gummy bear before eating it and the handful of other unfortunate bears :)

Watch- La Mer

...and now I'm taking a nap!

Madewell Style Insider OMG (went so great)

As the title suggests, I had such a great time styling yesterday at Madewell! It's so awesome when you get a chance to do what you love and when you love something, it shows :)

Madewell's new spring collection is full of brights (think neon), stripes (think sailors), and denim (think classic). Everything was mix and matchable, which I like, so I was really excited to see people trying on different options.

I'm so lucky to have such great family and friends who came out to support me. So, here are the top five highlights of our shopping PAR-TAY!

1. We had Amelie's and Starbucks- 2 of my favs so that alone = success!

2. A loyal  Follow Me To Fashion subscriber, Tia, came out to shop around and won a Madewell gift card for her best look! She looked cute in everything she tried on but we thought one outfit in particular was the best! (It'll be a future look of the day cuz I bought it for myself!)

3. If you haven't been to Madewell, then you haven't met the best retail girls in all of Southpark! They are all so sweet, each one has their own unique way of dressing and they know their style stuff for sure.

4. My favorite thing in the whole store was the v-neck t-shirt WALL...yes, a whole wall of different color v-necks. I know, it sounds crazy that it was my favorite BUT, who doesn't want a v-neck for every day of the week?

5. If you have a booty like me and ain't afraid to show it :) you''ll love Madewell's jeans. Their jeans fit my butt AND fit snug on my waist which almost never happens without tailoring. They seem to get that big booty doesn't necessarily mean love handles. I guess it's the Shakira, Beyonce, JLo effect...they are making the world of jeans a better place!

If you don't know where it is...park at Belk and look across from J. Crew

They have tons of printed scarves right now that are super cute

Hey, that's me!

That denim bar is there to satisfy all of your needs...skinnies, flares, boyfriends,  high-waisted, straight, bootcut, trousers, shorts, jeggings...really, all that.

Look Of The Day!

This is such a random look of the day so bear with me. I was on twitter and got a new follower so I was looking at her recent tweets and there was an InStyle Magazine post about side braids. I've been into this look for the longest so I decided to show you guys my side braid. (I like it best when the part is in the middle) Anyway, here's the link and here's my picture from the Halloween before last (like i said, I've been into side braids for a while). It's really easy to make this look more polished by curling a few stray pieces and using a "your hair color hair tie. You could also add a headband, do a fishtail braid or add a ribbon to the braid! possibilities=endless

I was at a pumpkin patch at Hodges Farm...I've been going here for pumpkins and Christmas Trees since I was little. Check their website because they always have fun stuff there + horseback riding and cute little goats that you can feed!
Ironically, all of my clothes are from Madewell lol
Boots- Frye

I had this picture as my phone's homescreen for so long cuz it looks so pretty. It was the most perfect cool, fall day (sigh)

Do's and Don'ts of Valentine's Day!

1. Don't give attitude to your man for at least one week before Valentine's Day!
Do make an effort to get your man something nice, he deserves materialistic gestures of love too!

2. Don't rent romance movies and wallow in sadness.
Do have a comedy movie marathon with unlimited snacks for 1!

3. Don't give your crush an expensive or sentimental gift, it will scare him away!
Do make a cool retro card for your crush...(DO NOT INCLUDE HOW YOU REALLY FEEL!)

4. Don't tell everyone how much you hate Valentine's Day, you'll just seem bitter.

Do plan a girls night at a fun lounge or restaurant if you're single.

5. Don't send yourself flowers at work, everyone knows they're from you.

Do buy your best work friend a box of chocolates and share!

6. Don't wear all black to morn the death of your love life.
Do wear red and pink accessories that make you look cute and irresistible!

7. Don't call your ex out of boredom, y'all broke up for a good reason!

Do look cute all day...you never know what new guy you might run into at Target!

8. Don't bother your friends who are in a relationship, they're probably busy!

Do pamper yourself all night with DIY facials, fragrant candles and a hot bath and to stay occupied.

9.  Don't swear off all things love in order to try to forget that it's Valentine's Day.

Do embrace love by making an awesome love songs playlist and belt out your fav songs like nobody's listening...even if people are around!

10. Don't drink alone...you're more likely to drunk dial.

Do drink and drunk dial with friends :)
