Current Obsession!!

Obsessive Usage

Ionix Diamond Drops Hair Serum
For the past 2 weeks my brush has had static= my hair has static. So, I was off on a search for a product that got rid of the frizz without weighing my hair down. I have natural hair so I have to be careful that anything that I put in my hair isn't greasy. I ended up buying Ionix Diamond Drops Hair Serum...this stuff sells for $20 on isobeauty.com and on other websites it's about $40. I found it at Marshalls for $5.50!! Yay :)

It took away the frizz, added shine and my hair was still light and non greasy! I used about nickel sized amount while my hair was dry but the box says you can use it on wet or dry hair.

Kenneth Cole Instant Shine Sponge
I wear lots of leather boots, loafers and oxfords during the winter time...I actually like it when my boots look worn, but not dirty and old. My boots always get scuffed up and the leather starts looking dry :(  Not Anymore! I used to polish my shoes with my dad's full on shoe shine kit. That process is pretty long and messy though. Clean the shoes, find the right color polish to match your shoes, rub the polish into the shoes, brush it smooth, then buff it for shine. (the polish always gets all over my clothes) WTF, that's too much, I just want to wear my boots! So, I now use an instant shine sponge. One step: Shine your boots. Woop Woop!

I got this one from Kenneth Cole but they also have them at most department stores.

This boot has not been shined...

This one has been shined!

The one on the left hasn't been shined, and the pretty one on the right has been :)

Look Of The Day

Headed to do some shopping for gifts (before Christmas)...even though I'm shoppoing for my family, I had to wear leggings just in case I wanted to try stuff on :) There's nothing worse than taking jeans on and off a million times, every time you want to try something on! I love this Cynthia Rowley bag because you can carry it on your arm, on your shoulder or across your body.

Look Of The Day

So, I took a break to spend tons of time with all of my family that came in for the holidays. It was a great Christmas and it snowed! A few days before Christmas, my friend had a bday get together and this is how I went. I love these clogs because I can wear them all night and they never hurt! Plus, the heel is pretty high so they make me super tall!

Look Of The Day

My apartment building had a holiday party at a nearby restaurant. It's always a struggle to dress warm enough for the weather but light enough for the temperature of the restaurant. I always dress on the lighter side. I figure, I can always put on my jacket if I get cold but I definitely don't want to be in the restaurant sweating, stripping off layers!

Look Of The Day

This weekend I went to Pinehurst, North Carolina with my family for a great relaxing holiday getaway! While the men in my fam played golf, my mom, sister-in-law and I reveled in the full day of shopping in the village shops. Aside from a few treats, (black truffle olive oil and honey ginger balsamic) my favorite purchase was from a small consignment shop called Dazzle. I was in HEAVEN! After 3 trips to the dressing room, with nothing but success, I had to make some crucial decisions. Hermes scarf? Ralph Lauren Trench? Ostrich Jacket? (sigh) Sadly, I ended up walking away from all of those items :(
I walked away though, with the most perfect pair of vintage Louboutins.   :)

Look Of The Day

Another day of Christmas Shopping so I need to be comfortable! Leggings are an obvious choice for comfort, trade in the college hoodie for an embellished knit sweater, choose calf high boots instead of Uggs...same comfort level, more polished look. Happy Shopping!

Look Of The Day

This is an old picture that was used in my friend Lola's portfolio. I love how it's blurry and unfocused. Anyone who lives in Charlotte knows about Breakfast Club and has their own opinion about it. My opinion is, the building makes for a good picture :)

Men, Whatever Shoe You Thought You Should Wear With A Suit, Don't!

Too many times have men put on their nicest suit to go to work, a party, a semi formal function or a formal gala only to ruin it by wearing the wrong shoes! Church Shoes, Work Shoes, ROTC Shoes, Club Shoes and Penny Loafers do not work with a suit and some just don't work. Follow this guide and you'll get it right every time...trust me, women are definitely looking at your shoes :)

DON'T WEAR THESE SHOES TO A PARTY, CLUB, FORMAL, SEMI FORMAL...
(I refuse to put the websites or any other info for these shoes, for fear that someone might try to buy them!)

1. Church Shoes- Please let the gators and crocs live...not that I'm an animal rights advocate, I just need any reason for people to not buy these shoes!

2. Work Shoes- If you wear these shoes to work, you should stop...you should also stop wearing them with a suit to have drinks after 5.

3. ROTC Shoes- Unless you are preparing for military combat or walking a construction site, these steel toe shoes should be left on the shelf.

4. Club Shoes- (sigh) I can't even describe why these elf shoes are wrong...but the fact that they resemble elf wear should be enough.

5. Penny Loafers- I love penny loafers BUT they are a casual shoe and shouldn't be worn with a suit. Wear them with khakis or cuffed jeans for a preppy look.

Do Wear These Shoes With A Suit Wherever You're Going!

1. Oxford
You can never go wrong with a great pair of oxfords.

Calvin Klein Gareth II Oxford

2. Wingtip Oxford
I love to see men wearing wingtips at work.

 Magnanni 'Bruno' Wingtip Oxford

3. Derby Shoes
Similar to oxfords but they have open lacing.

 4. Loafers
If you are going to wear a casual suit or you're going to a daytime function, loafers are appropriate.

5. Patent Leather
These shoes should only be worn at formal events with a tuxedo!

Look Of The Day

I'm always super happy to hang out with my family...especially my nephews! I know I'll be playing lots of hide and seek and tag so jeans are definitely the best option. These C&C jeans are basically jeggings...they're great under boots because they'll never look baggy and the stretch fabric is flexible enough for crawling around with nephews :)
